What A Wonderful Wedding

Weddings are not something that I normally do, but when I received a message via Instagram asking if I would be their wedding photographer, I was over the moon and a little nervous all at the same time. Jack and Amy had been following me on Instagram for a while and just liked my style.

After sending a few messages and chatting over the phone with Jack, I was booked in to photograph their wedding at Haldon Belvedere in Devon and yes that meant crossing the border!!

We arrived at the venue nice and early, I took Andrew (my husband) with me as a second shooter, moral support and driver! We had a good hour wandering around the venue checking out angles and getting lots of ideas and boy was it a venue, a restored castle/folly, with the most amazing staircase.

Jack was first to arrive with his best man, followed by the rest of the family and the bridesmaids.

Then Amy pulled up and the camera went into a whole new gear, with photos on the spiral staircase as Amy, her Dad and the bridesmaids made their way up to the ceremony room. The service was beautiful.

We then all made our way downstairs for the reception and I stole Amy and Jack for a few shots of the married couple. We went up on the roof and took lots on the stairs, before heading outside for the couple and family shots. To make thing a little bit more fun I had everybody stand in a love heart on the lawn with Amy & Jack in the centre, I then burned back up the stairs to take the picture out of the window.

But the star of the show was Oscar, Amy & Jacks one year old son, he smiled all day and was just the sweetest little dude. It was such a beautiful day, with lots of formal, informal and intimate photos taken, with a very lovely family, I really did have a fantastic time.

Here’s Amy & Jacks review

“We’d been following Kate’s adventures via her photos and stories on Instagram and loved what we saw, so we made contact with her to see if she would photograph our wedding in Devon.

Kate kindly obliged and was fantastic in the build up to the big day, carrying out research on the venue beforehand and speaking over the phone several times to gauge our requirements.

Kate and her husband Andrew arrived at the venue in plenty of time to scope it out for the best shots and the results were fantastic! They managed to capture all aspects of the day from the beautiful scenery, to the standard family pictures and natural relaxed photos of all the guests.

We couldn’t recommend Kate highly enough and it was a privilege to have Kate and Andrew there on our big day.”
